Discover the best startups from emerging markets in partnership with Orange.

Seedstars World is a Switzerland based startup competition that takes place in emerging markets. The goal is to run 65+ local competitions where they identify the best seed-stage startups, give them pitch training and award the winners with an opportunity to compete in the Seedstars Summit where one of them will be crowned Seedstars World Global Winner.

It represents 3000+ applications, 600 selected startups, 65+ finalists and 1 winner.


The Seedstars Summit will take place in 2017 in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday 6th April 2017. Come and watch the 65+ startups who qualified through our Local Competitions battle for equity investment of up to $1.5mn!

Orange will be there with 15 african start-ups at a dedicated corner.

All that you've missed during regional competition in MEA

JORDAN : On August 7 during Seedstars Amman, Mind Rockets won the competition and will represent the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland to compete for over 500K USD in equity investment.

IVORY COAST : Seedstars World (SSW) came back to Abidjan for the 2nd time on 29.08.2016, its 6 th station on its journey across 18 African countries this year.

The winner of Seedstars Abidjan is Etudesk : A web platform permitting academic institutions to set up their e-learning platform easily and allows them to set up and offer high quality courses.

In addition, the Seedstars World Abidjan event featured the following keynotes:
1. Sabina Vigani , Country Director at the Jacobs Foundation
2. Idriss Ndaho, Group Project Manager at Orange Technocentre
3. Sidie TiƩmoko Toure, Minister of Youth, Sports and Leisure

  • ETUDESK : A web platform permitting academic institutions to set
    up their e-learning platform easily and allows them to offer high quality courses.
  • MON ARTISAN : A platform that allows to quickly and easily find skilled craftsmen.
  • APHELION ENERGY : A platform that delivers, installs and modernises solar energy solutions in rural areas.
  • KALEJOB : A web and mobile application to help unemployed young
    people find jobs and apply to vacancies easily via SMS without the need of internet access.
  • DJAZI : A tool that lets anyone easily find domestic services.
  • COLIBA : An early stage waste management online mobile
    application which seeks to help users separate their waste.
  • SIMPAY : Offer small loans via credit card use among our partners
    possessing our mobile credit card readers.
  • TRAFFETY : A safety tracking tool letting users know anytime where in
    his network emergency services are required.
  • SYCA PAY : Syca Pay offers a global interoperability solution to
    simplify and bring out the digital payment in Africa.
  • FORTITUDE : A web platform dedicated to online videos courses for
    students and parents.
