Created in 2009, Sécuribox provides users with a simple way to automatically save, analzse and store administrative documents from a variety of cloud-based services. Since then, the France-based company has garnered more than 64,000 registered users, and has greatly expanded its B2B white label operations. By the end of 2014, Sécuribox will launch a new application and new version of its service based on the Orange Cloud. In this interview, Sécuribox CEO and co-founder Bruno Forni discusses how partnering with Orange has added an important new dimension to the company’s multi-cloud strategy, as well as its implications for the company’s long-term vision.
We’re looking to expand our user base and to enter new markets so partnering with Orange has been an important step in our multi-cloud strategy. We were particularly interested in leveraging the Orange Cloud, which offers up to 100 GB of free space to its many users, as well as the OpenID Connect standard, which Orange recently adopted to simplify user account login through third-party services like ours. It was clear to us that transitioning to the Orange Cloud would provide us with a critically important component to our new application and our long-term strategy.
For the moment, we’re focused on the launch of our app at the end of 2014, but we’ll be entering new markets very soon. We’ll inaugurate the app in Portugal in November, followed by Spain in December. We then plan to enter Brazil and Mexico within the following months. In the longer term, we’d like to focus more on small- and medium-sized enterprises, as part of our white label business, and on opportunities in big data, which is another field that Orange knows well.
